Adam Schefter reports on Twitter, "Trade in workes: Cowboys preparing to trade LB Bobby Carpenter to Rams for OT Alex Barron. Not official yet but going that way"
As I saw on a message board "Barron could never play and this would be a great trade for The Cowboys."
As for Barron he was a first round pick out of Florida State 19th overall and was regarded as the top Tackle in the draft. Barron was the prototypical Left Tackle who played the right side while Orlando Pace finished his career. He slid to the Left Side but now is back at Right Tackle after the Rams took Baylor Offensive Tackle Jason Smith last year. Barron has been thought of as a bust but has started every game of his career. I don't think he's a bust he just hasn't lived up to that franchise tackle reputation (much like Leonard Davis in Arizona). He's also got a bit of a Flozell reputation for false starts, but is a good solid lineman. I think it's a great move and should add great depth to the Cowboys line. We'll update if this goes official.
