Cheerleaders are fun to watch when they perform to perfection and when they make mistakes. I will highlight some of the funniest moments in cheerleading history. Some are NFL and NBA cheerleaders and others are not; it is a good mix.
#1 Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys tackles a cheerleader
Jason Witten, a tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, tackled one of his own cheerleaders on Nov. 24, 2011, in a game vs. the Miami Dolphins. The Cowboys won the Thanksgiving day game 20-19, and the cheerleader, Melissa Kellerman, was not injured. Watch the video on Youtube if you missed the game or if you just want to see it again. While Kellerman was not injured, she was forced to remove her twitter account after tweeting about the incident.
#2 A cheerleader accidentally dances into a pool
At the October 2011 Pan-American games in Mexico, Mariana de Leon dances backwards right into a swimming pool. No big deal though, watch for yourself as she gets out of the water and finishes the dance routine while she is soaking wet. After the game, de Leon stated, "I'll be fine. Maybe the attention will bring me good things."
#3 Mascots that swallow cheerleaders
On Sept. 12, 2010, the Titans' mascot devoured a cheerleader during their season opener. Not only did the Titans devour a cheerleader, they annihilated the Raiders 38-13. Watch for yourself as this raccoon swallows up one of his own blonde cheerleaders.
The Titans' mascot isn't the first to pull this stunt. In 2008, Airhead Clutch, the mascot for the Houston Rockets, chases down a cheerleader in the middle of her routine to swallow her whole. Watch Airhead Clutch and the blonde cheerleader who escapes from his mouth.
There is also the Toronto Raptors' mascot who is known for gobbling up cute cheerleaders. Watch this red mascot in action.
#4 A New York Knicks' cheerleader falls during a dance routine
In 2010, a New York Knicks' cheerleader falls on her back during a dance routine. Oops, how embarrassing. Still, she recovers with a smile while managing to look as beautiful as can be.
#5 Two different cheerleaders upload funny videos of themselves onto Youtube
Watch as a cheerleader for the WHS Wildcats gets hit in the head with a football while dancing. The cheerleader, Rachel, posted the video of herself.
Another cheerleader uploaded a funny video of herself. This cheerleader slips and falls and then laughs it off in good spirits.
