Tony Romo took two painkilling injections to help with his fractured rib in order to play Monday night.

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback might go for another shot on Sunday before he plays the Detroit Lions, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas.

"I would say this, there's a test that just goes, come over here (lightly tap his rib area) and see how hard you can do it until I feel it," Romo said. "And if I feel it I'm going to need it."

There is a chance, Romo said, he won’t need a painkiller to play against the Lions, who have a talented defensive front led by tackle Ndamukong Suh. Romo wore a protective vest vs. the Redskins and he could wear it again.

"It did a good job," he said. "I thought it was good, I thought it helped. I'm not sitting there constantly thinking about it, that's a good sign."
