Tony Romo returned to the practice field for the Dallas Cowboys today, taking him another step closer to playing Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys.

Romo was spotted throwing passes during the portion of practice open to media, according to the Dallas Morning News. He is recovering from a fractured rib and punctured lung suffered last Sunday in an overtime victory at San Francisco.

All expectations are Romo will start against the Redskins.

“I don't think we can say anything 100 percent right now,” Romo said. “It's just a matter of the day and keep getting better. I'm obviously planning mentally going out there, so we'll see.”

Also taking part in practice were wide receiver Dez Bryant (thigh) and running back Felix Jones (shoulder). Their status for the game has been up in the air.
