THREE REASONS WHY TONY ROMO WILL LEAD THE DALLAS COWBOYS TO THE SUPER BOWL: A FANS TAKE

I've been a fan of the Dallas Cowboys ever since I was a kid and I support my quarterback, but even I can't help poking fun at some of the ridiculousness Tony Romo has demonstrated over the years. After all, he's had several unflattering plays. He's only won one playoff game his entire career. We get it - Dallas can't win with Romo at the helm. Or can we? Here are three reasons why Tony Romo will make the Cowboys champions again.

HE IS A PLAYMAKER

I think the biggest reason people are hard on Romo is that he set rather high expectations right out of the gate. Tony Romo has a knack for making big plays. If you look at all the highlights in his career, you'll find some amazing plays, like this one and that one. This season alone he had several outstanding big passing plays that resulted from his ability to extend the play. Tony Romo can make plays.

JERRY IS CATERING TO HIS NEEDS

Let's be honest - Jerry Jones loves Romo. All the things the Cowboys' owner has done over recent years serves as evidence to his faith in his quarterback . Jerry is determined to make sure there is talent at the wide receiver position even if it means investing too much. Jones overpaid for Roy Williams. Then he got rid of Terrell Owens when TO started questioning Romo's judgment. And then he turns around and trades up so he can draft Dez Bryant . The Cowboys have had an abundance of defensive needs over the course of Romo's tenure with Dallas, yet Jerry continues to use early draft picks to strengthen our offense (Felix Jones, Martellus Bennett, Dez Bryant, DeMarco Murray). Jones has demonstrated he is committed to providing Romo a supporting cast. At the same time Jerry shows no interest in going after a viable back-up. Why? Because Romo is his boy.

ROMO AIRS IT OUT

His first full season as our starting quarterback was in 2007. If you took all the starting quarterbacks who have been playing since 2007, you'd only find two QBs who have averaged more yards/game than Romo - Drew Brees and Tom Brady. Romo is a 3-time Pro Bowler. He can sling it. Save me the spiel about "stats don't mean anything." It means he can move the ball. So even though he's yet to hoist the Lombardi trophy in the air, it doesn't mean the Cowboys don't have the quarterback they need to get it done.

Author Dan Rogers has been a Dallas Cowboys' fan since he was a child. He became interested in the Cowboys because their quarterback, Roger Staubach, had a cool sounding name. He loved the color blue and thought stars were pretty. It was really inevitable. Follow him on Twitter @DannyPhantom24 or on Facebook.
