New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez apparently impressed his teammates as he made like a Timex watch in Sunday night's 27-24 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

He took a licking but kept on ticking, to borrow a line from the old commercial.

"You wouldn't think a GQ cover guy would be as tough as he is," receiver Plaxico Burress told the New York Post.

But in taking a series of hits, the Jets were concerned enough about Sanchez's well being that they put him through some tests for a concussion in the aftermath of the game.

Sanchez said he was fine, and the Jets' Wednesday injury report does not list the quarterback with any ailment.

"The training staff just wanted to be extra cautious and make sure I'm doing well, especially in the beginning of the season, so I can make it through the long haul," Sanchez said.
