ROB RYAN HAS A BIG MOUTH BUT BACKS IT UP ON THE FIELD: A FANS TAKE (YAHOO! CONTRIBUTOR NETWORK)

There has been a lot of talk lately concerning Rob Ryan. Before the Philadelphia game it was all about his coaching and the fact that he turned Dallas from a laughing stock into a top quality NFL defense. After the loss, it was about his mouth. That is why a lot of Dallas fans suck.

I am a Dallas fan but I won't cheer one week and turn on them the next. I will be honest about what they do right and do wrong. I try not to make excuses for them and I don't pretend that bad things don't exist to act like a super fan. I am a real person and the Dallas Cowboys are my favorite team. Good or bad, I won't turn on them. But I won't ride the bandwagon.

I have been excited since the season began about what Ryan was going to do with the team. Then he slowly turned them from a pretender into one of the best defenses out there. Before Philadelphia, they didn't let anyone run on them. They stuffed everyone. They also made quarterback's lives a living hell. With the exception of the final drive of the game, they held Tom Brady in check.

And, yes, Rob Ryan has a big mouth. He is like his brother Rex at New York and his father Buddy from his days at Chicago. Rob Ryan says what he is going to say, and if you don't like it, he doesn't care. I like that too. People seem to want him to shut up and not say anything. They want him to coach and not get fired up. They want him to act like Wade Phillips from the sound of it.

I don't. I want Rob Ryan to say anything that is on his mind. As long as he is doing his job and Dallas is dominating the other team, I don't care what he says. And I respect him even more after this week when he took responsibility for the loss. Early in the season, he called Philadelphia the "All-Hype Team." Dallas fans loved that and most agreed. Now that the Eagles beat Dallas, those same fans turned on Ryan and said he should keep quiet.

Those are, by definition, bandwagon fans. Unless you were mad at him when he first said it, don't act like you are mad now. Besides, like I said, he took responsibility for being outcoached. He is a man who will say when he got beat. He did something very few Cowboys players or coaches have done this year. He said he messed up. Others should learn from that.

The Eagles slip up was one game. Dallas took a bad defeat for sure but it was one bad defeat. Every other loss this season was by four points or less. Dallas is a good team with a great nucleus. I am worried about Sean Lee's wrist injury but feel Ryan can work around it. I have all the faith in the world in Rob Ryan. And he can say anything he wants as far as I am concerned.

Author Shawn S. Lealos has followed the Dallas Cowboys since he was a child, his favorite players range from Roger Staubach and Tony Dorsett to the Triplets of the 90s. Through the great years of the '90s and the hard times of the '80s, Shawn never turned his back on America's Team.
