It sounds like Jerry Jones doesn’t believe David Buehler did everything he could to have his body prepared for the rigors of being an NFL kicker.

That’s because the Dallas Cowboys owner had harsh words for Buehler, who was placed on injured reserve Thursday after re-injuring his right groin muscle and suffering a torn adductor, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The Cowboys had been waiting around for Buehler earlier in the season when he missed four games with a groin injury. Speaking on his radio show Friday on 105.3 FM in Dallas, Jones brought the hammer.

“Let me just say this, I'm frustrated because you would expect players to, and I understand injuries, but he has known all along how to prepare and how to get into shape and how to prepare himself and be ready to be a kicker," Jones said.

“It's frustrating to have your kicker injured. He's a valuable asset, especially with the rules as they are right now. We're going to be playing some key away games out in the weather and we'd like to have him kicking in them because he is a better kickoff guy than (Dan) Bailey. I'm very frustrated. It is his job to stay ready to play and prepare himself so that those kinds of things, for what he's got to do, don't come up.”

It doesn’t take a lot of criticism to sack a kicker. We’ll see what kind of future Buehler has in Dallas after this season.
