For a surprise weekend for my husband I decided that I wanted to do something big. I thought of many options, but ultimately the best surprise that I could ever give him had to have something to do with the Dallas Cowboys. My husband, James, is obsessed with the Cowboys. If you don't know what to get him for his birthday, you can never go wrong with something having to do with the Cowboys. So, I knew that this weekend would be perfect for him.

I started my plans by finding out what hotel the Cowboys stayed in on the night before games, The Gaylord Texan. Even though the hotel was pricey, I decided that I wanted everything about this weekend to be the best that it could be, so I spared no expense and booked a room at that hotel. I then signed us up for the tour of Cowboys Stadium, and the weekend was going to end with us actually going to a game. Everything was in place except for the biggest part of the weekend, the tickets. So I looked on lots of ticket sites and I soon realized that if we didn't want to be sitting in the nose bleed section, that we were going to have to fork over some serious money. And as I kept telling myself that no expense would be spared, I couldn't help but start to add up everything in my head, and my husband's dream weekend was already going to cost us about $5,000. So I looked on the online classified of many newspapers in my area and sure enough I found someone who was willing to sell me tickets for a good price. I met him at a local restaurant and picked up the tickets. I paid him $550 for them and drove home to surprise my husband with them.

He was so excited and the weekend in Texas went great up until we were about to go to the game. We were looking up the best place to park, which would be the closest to our seats, and realized that the section that we were suppose to be sitting in didn't even exist. We went down to the concierge desk and asked if we were mistaken, that maybe we had an old map, but we're told that our tickets were fakes. We walked back to our room and had a good time watching the game together anyways, but we were not very happy that we had driven all this way to not see the game that we had spent so much money on. I tried to contact the man who sold me the tickets, but the cell phone number that he had given me was now disconnected. I also contacted the newspaper that he had advertised in, but they told me that they couldn't do anything. So, we had a great weekend, but I'm sure the man who scammed us had a better weekend with our money.
