Facing multiple lawsuits and $800,000 in debt following spending sprees on expensive jewelry, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant said he has resolved his financial issues.
“I have a handle on it and it's done,” Bryant told the Associated Press during an autograph session in Tulsa, Okla.. “It's in the past and I'm ready to go ahead from here.”
Bryant said that there's no rift between himself and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stemming from his financial problems.
Bryant also predicted the lockout will end and the season won't be lost.
“There will be an NFL season and I think we will start on time,” Bryant said.. “I know Dallas will be ready to go, and I'll be ready to put on my helmet and go to work.”
Bryant also said he's recovered from a broken ankle.
The former Oklahoma State standout caught 45 passes for 561 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie, returning two punts for touchdowns.
“I'm very determined to stay healthy this season,” Bryant said. “I'm working hard and I am staying focused on that. I'm running routes every day to get ready. It was 104 degrees yesterday and I was running gassers. I feel good and I'm ready to play.”
