SAN ANTONIO (AP)—The Dallas Cowboys have voted unanimously in favor of recertifying the NFL Players Association as a union.

Team representative Jason Witten said Friday that an official from the NFLPA visited with the team and explained the process. Once all questions were answered, players were then given the chance to sign their union cards and Witten said everyone did.

Witten said “it was a good process, it went rather quick.”

All NFL players must take a majority vote to approve returning the NFLPA to union status. The organization dissolved into a trade association on March 11.

Once the NFLPA regains its union status, it can finish negotiating the collective bargaining agreement with the NFL. Having that done will allow players who’ve agreed to new deals to join their teams.
