Count the Dallas Cowboys as one of the five teams the NFL has sanctioned for illegal contact with players during the offseason.

The Dallas Morning News reports that several players met with new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and that constituted a violation of the rules for the dead period. The NFL has been clear in stating that the five teams broke rules before the lockout began.

Per the report, the Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers have also been zapped. Like the Cowboys, those teams either have new coordinators or new head coaches. Per NFL guidelines, players are not able to participate in meetings, supervised by position coaches or supervised by a strength and conditioning coach.
