The Dallas Cowboys held a focus group yesterday to give opinions and ideas on subjects that could help bring a better gameday experience to Cowboys Stadium. UnderTheArches.com was represented by our very own "DaddyDave". DaddyDave has been a member of UnderTheArches.com since 2009! He has provided some inside information in regards to the ongoings inside of the focus group. The information was useful and informative. Below is an exert from his findings. 1.They will not open the stadium 3 hours early. All research shows that people enter the stadium approx. 45 minutes before games. Does not help ease flow in those last 45 minutes by opening any earlier.
2.They are well aware that more signage needs to be put around stadium to help people find correct entry point. Also aware that the entry points at each endzone need improvements. Too crowded/trouble finding mens or womens lines,..
3.They will be increasing more vendors selling non alcoholic drinks. Also adding more popcorn and quicker method of making ice cream. We suggested maybe a vendor credit for season tix holder/a reusable cup for kids at discount price etc.. (the theme of 'hey, give the season ticket holders something more' was evident)
4. I did bring up fanvision - they are aware of it and promise to be one of the leaders in terms of technology at the stadium. They are well aware of the coverage issues they have. I did mention that the ARCHES website let me know that the Vikes gave these out free. I suggested that maybe this would be a nice gift for us season ticket holders.
5. The focus group SLAMMED the party pass. At least 4-5 of us all gave specific examples of the problems we have encountered with this group. We spent the majority of the session talking about this. Alot of suggestion to improve this were mentioned- will be interesting to see if they follow thru on any of it.
6. Still working on sound issues. Cowboys spending alot of money to improve this. Also mentioned- lets improve/add replays on the big screen/highlights of other games during the day (vs. watching a replay of the O line in a lawn mower race.) Improve fantasy stats as well.
7. Our group all agreed- get rid of the miller lite pole dancers. Staff all nodded (had heard this before)- it is a contractual thing with Miller Lite. Will be brought up in negotiations when the time comes.
8. The cowboys website will be adding an owners webpage. Should have a lot of good ideas/game day info (is roof open? etc.)
