The Dallas Cowboys worked out 17 veteran free agents on Wednesday.
None would be defined as a headliner, but players with professional experience, including FB-TE Dan Gronkowski and QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson, the Sacramento State product who went to training camp with the 49ers, were among those worked out at Valley Ranch.
Wide receiver Dominique Zeigler, a returner and wide receiver with the 49ers last season, and former Miami (Fla.) defensive end Baraka Atkins were participants in the tryout.
Earlier this week, the Cowboys placed running back DeMarco Murray and quarterback Jon Kitna on injured reserve.
Veteran running back Sammy Morris and practice squad receiver Dwayne Harris, a sixth-round pick out of East Carolina, have been added to the 53-man roster.
