It took a while but we’ve located the anti-Dez Bryant.
When we last heard about the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver he was in a “dark place” after all of the negative publicity he’s received from the trail of unpaid debts he’s created along with his efforts to cast himself as the lead actor in MallRats 3.
The flip side of that is Stefan Logan, the returner for the Detroit Lions, who said he’s tightened his belt in the lockout. With no end in sight, Logan has adjusted his personal habits. He thinks twice before he goes to a club now, he told Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. He’s not going to buy a luxury watch he might have in a normal working environment. He’s holding off on buying a condo until the labor dispute is resolved.
"The expenses that we have, and some of the things we want to buy, you got to cut back a little bit and say, 'Hey, I got to wait right now. I can't get that,' " Logan told Birkett. "You've still got to eat, you've still got to live, you want to buy your little shoes and outfits here and there.
"But as far as going to the club, you can't be going and spending all that money, blowing it. You got to remember, 'Hey, I'm not working right now, so when this money leaves my bank account, ain't nothing coming back in.' "
It’s nice to hear there are players out there acting sensibly with their money because it’s worth remembering that their careers are short. They need to use their football earnings to set themselves up for a lifetime, not a few years.
