I think it may be blown more out of proportion than it actually is. Yes, Dez should have had the humility to follow through, but we don't know the context of how it went down. Roy Williams could have offended Dez on how he handled the matter. To play the devil's advocate, Roy trying to make Dez Bryant carry his shoulder pads could be a passive aggressive way of showing Dez who was there first. I don't think this act will be a sign of Dez turning into another TO. He has a couple of former Cowboys mentoring him (Irvin and Deion) and he seems humbled to be a Cowboy. Remember, he was the first of all first rounders to sign a contract. Who knows what the future will hold; I don't think this is any sign of anything negative to come.
Whatever the case, the media is certainly trying to create controversy to sell the papers. What better way to do that than create controversy between Roy Williams (who the Cowboys gave up the farm to acquire yet hasn't lived up to his expectations), Dez (a talented rookie who was initially reported as a player with issues), and the Cowboys (who have been quite all off season). I guess they feel the need to report something else besides Favre watch 24/7.
