Confirming what many have been hearing about OJ Atogwe. Looks like the general consensus has Uncle Jerry making a play for him. Might be the last piece of the puzzle boys and girls. Most fans from St. Louis consider him one of the best, if not the best player on their team, from what I've read from various sources and that St. Louis is crazy to let him go. Although I admit to not having watched many Rams games, it seems as though he will be an upgrade over Ken Hamlin and certainly over Alan Ball and Mike Hamlin. We will see June 1 or sometime soon after.

GO COWBOYS !
Won't forget the experience...ever ! and will be back this year for the TITANS game !

A Cowboys Fan in a thread had tried to settle an argument when he was criticized for saying Atogwe was a great player. He came up with these stats from 2006. Pretty interesting
"We had Hamlin, Rolle just got signed to largest contract ever for a safety, and Atogwe. Let's compare those 3 since 2006.
Hamlin - 4.7 tackles per game, 3 sacks, 9 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles
Rolle - 4.9 tackles per game, 1.5 sacks, 11 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles
Atogwe - 5.1 tackles per game, 2 sacks, 18 interceptions, 14 forced fumbles
I consider those to be playmaking stats. Sure corners get more picks. Sure LB's get more tackles. But for the FS position, that is about as good as you can do."
This gives Atogwe an avg of 6 INT's a season which would have led the Cowboys every yr. He went on to cite that since 1990 only 3 players have tallied 6 picks in a season for the Cowboys, Anthony Henry in 2007, Kevin Smith in 2005 and Prime Time in 1993
That's it- I'm going to contribute to help the Cowboys get Atogwe. Oh, wait... I'm already contributing!
Section 412 row 17

I'm disappointed that the Cowboys didn't make a run at Atogwe. I think that acquisition would have brought us over the top. I guess we'll have to rely on Alan Ball. He is not the most sufficient safety we have, but he did play better than Ken Hamlin. I just hope he's the answer. My fear is that Alan Ball will become a liability. If that happens I guess most fans will always fall back on Jerry failing to aquire Atogwe or any other safety.
